The Canucks honoured Walter "Babe" Pratt who died of a heart attack in the Pacific Coliseum while watching a Canucks game on December 16th, 1988. Pratt played 13 seasons in the NHL for the NY Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins. He was an analyst for the Hockey Night in Canada telecasts from Vancouver in the 1970´s and served as a goodwill ambassador of the Canucks.
He was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966
