The Leafs wore this alternate shoulder patch to honour their former captain Ted "Teeder" Kennedy. He played 14 in the NHL - all of them with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He won the Hart Memorial Throphy in 1955 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
