The Penguins took to the ice wearing a “Boston 617” patch, while the Boston Bruins wore a “Boston Strong” blue and yellow ribbon patch.
The Pittsburgh Penguins patch features the US Flag, the Boston skyline and '617' the city’s area code.
Both teams showed their support by auctioning their game-worn jerseys for those affected by the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.
