'Berry Ashbee'

The Flyers wore Berry Ashbee´s #4 to honour their former teammate who died on May 12th, 1977. Ashbee became a NHL regular with the Flyers during 1970/71, became one of their best defenseman and won the Stanley Cup with the team in 1974. He died at the age of 38 on leukemia.
