'"Pelle" Lindbergh'

The Flyers wore Pelle Lindbergh´s #31 to honour their former teammate who died on November 11th, 1985. Lindbergh was drafted by the Flyers in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft and played his first game for the Philadelphia Flyers in 1981/82. In 1984/85, Lindbergh was named a First Team All-Star, in the same season he led the NHL with 40 victories and won the Vezina Trophy, as first European goaltender in NHL history.
He died after a tragical car accident in Somerdale, NJ.
