The NHL Winter Classic outdoor game was played at the Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia.
The Rangers rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2.
Unlike other Winter Classics, this game would not be played on New Year's Day, as that falls on a Sunday and NBC cannot air NHL games on Sunday nights during the NFL season, due to the network's contractual obligation.
