The Devils wear this patch on their home (10/08 vs. Flyers) and on their away (10/15 vs. Predators) jerseys as a memorial to their former teammates Karel Rachunek and Alexander Vasyunov.
They died on September 7th as a plane, carrying the KHL team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, crashed shortly after takeoff and killed all of the team's roster and coaching staff.
