The Devils wore this patch for one game after the retirement ceremony for Scott Niedermayer´s #27.
Niedermayer was drafted in the 1st round (3rd overall) in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft and spent 13 seasons with the Devils.
He won the Stanley Cup Trophy four times - 1995, 2000 + 2003 with the New Jersey Devils and 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks.
As a competitor for Team Canada he is a five-time goal medal winner (World Junior Championships/1991, World Championships/2004, World Cup of Hockey/2004, Olympic Games/2002+2010.
