The Bruins wear this special patch to honor their former player who died on January 4th, 2017.
Milton "Milt" Schmidt, born in 1918, was the oldest living former NHL player and the last living player to play in the AHL's inaugural season at the time of his death.
He played 16 seasons for the Boston Bruins and served as their Head Coach for another 11 seasons.
